Posted on November 17th, 2010 by Patrick Sands

WEST POINT — Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia, Inc. (KMMG) announced today the re-opening of its online application process for the third wave of hiring at the West Point, Ga., automotive facility. Since its first round of hiring in 2008, KMMG has hired more than 2,000 team members which manufacture the extremely popular 2011 Kia Sorento CUV, the top-selling Kia model in the U.S this year.

“We have built a team that has been setting new records for quality and efficiency,” said Randy Jackson, KMMG’s director of human resources. “Their success has paved the way for even more growth, which is why we are moving aggressively to add new team members with a third wave of hiring.”

KMMG began production of the 2011 Sorento in November of 2009. The vehicle quickly garnered an impressive list of awards and accolades and was named a “Top Safety Pick” by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety*. Through September, KMMG has produced more than 100,000 Sorentos, and during that time the KMMG team achieved a record-setting level of quality and efficiency.

Individuals wishing to apply to KMMG must visit www.kiajobsingeorgia.com to complete an application. KMMG’s application process is online-only. Selected candidates will then be invited for additional pre-employment assessment at the Kia Georgia Training Center, which is operated jointly by Georgia Quick Start and KMMG.

“Our current team has set a high standard of performance,” Jackson said. “Now we’re looking for still more candidates who want to take on the challenge of becoming the world’s best ‘industrial athletes.’ Once again, we’re asking everyone, ‘Can you make it?'”
