Online application process opened for Equipment Maintenance and Die Maintenance Team Members

(West Point, GA.) Oct. 10, 2012 – Kia Motors is one of the fastest-growing car companies in the U.S. and today the company’s first North American assembly plant – Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia, Inc. (KMMG) – announced the re-opening of its online application process for individuals skilled in operating and maintaining automated manufacturing equipment. These positions perform routine and preventative maintenance and repair procedures on mechanical, electrical and different types of machinery and equipment.

Since its first round of hiring in 2008, KMMG has hired more than 3,000 team members who build two of Kia’s best-selling vehicles in the U.S.: the Sorento CUV and Optima midsize sedan.

“People are the heart and soul of our company and our team members continue to set the bar extremely high for quality and efficiency,” said Randy Jackson, KMMG’s vice president of human resources and administration. “At KMMG we believe in the ‘Kia Way,’ a philosophy built on teamwork and continuous improvement where all of our team members work together as one system, one team pulling in the same direction to make today better than yesterday. Our team members are the living embodiment of this philosophy.”

KMMG began production of the Kia Sorento on Nov. 16, 2009, followed by the Optima on Sept. 2, 2011. These vehicles have played an important role in Kia’s unprecedented growth and streak of 25 straight monthly sales records in the U.S.

“Our current team has set a tremendously high standard of quality performance,” Jackson said. “Now we are looking for more candidates who fit that mold and want to join the company that is building the best vehicles in the world, right here in West Point, Georgia.”

Individuals wishing to apply to KMMG for maintenance and die maintenance positions must visit www.kiajobsingeorgia.com to complete an application. KMMG’s application process is online-only. Selected candidates will then be invited for additional pre-employment assessment at the Kia Georgia Training Center, which is operated jointly by Georgia Quick Start and KMMG.
