Kia Director Speaks To Chambers County Technical School

On Thursday, May 15, Randy Jackson, the director of human resources and administration at KIA Motors Manufacturing Georgia, Inc. (KMMG), was the keynote speaker at the Chambers County (Ala.) Career Technical Center’s Annual Banquet honoring students and board members. Jackson discussed the importance of technical schools along with the $1 billion, 2,245-acre KMMG project currently underway just across the state line in West Point, Ga. He also discussed the 43,000+ applications received during KMMG’s 30-day online application process, which set a new benchmark for the automotive industry.

 

Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia, Inc. (KMMG) is the first manufacturing site in North America for Kia Motors Corporation based in Seoul, Korea. KMMG is located on 2,200 acres in West Point, Georgia, and is scheduled to begin production in the last quarter of 2009. At full capacity, the plant will have the ability to produce 300,000 vehicles annually and employ approximately 2,500 team members.
