Georgia Economic Developers Tour Kia Georgia Training Center

Georgia Economic Developers Visit KMMG — On Thursday, members of the Georgia Economic Developers Association (GEDA) visited Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia (KMMG) for a tour of the construction site, followed by a tour of the Kia Georgia Training Center. Randy Jackson (second from right), director of human resources and administration for KMMG, spoke to the group about the Kia project and the remarkable response during the online application process earlier this year. Also shown above are Jackie Rohosky (front on left), head of Georgia Quick Start, and Jane Fryer (far right), president of the LaGrange/Troup County Chamber of Commerce. The Georgia Economic Developers Association is a non-profit association of professionals and volunteers who are involved with the economic development of the cities and counties in Georgia.

 

Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia, Inc. (KMMG) is the first manufacturing site in North America for Kia Motors Corporation based in Seoul, Korea. KMMG is located on 2,200 acres in West Point, Georgia, and is scheduled to begin production in the last quarter of 2009. At full capacity, the plant will have the ability to produce 300,000 vehicles annually and employ approximately 2,500 team members.
