Kia Georgia is a community resource for the education of Troup County’s youth.
The health of a community begins with education, and we are committed to supporting the educators of our children any way we can.
THE NEXT GENERATION
PAVING THE WAY
We are fortunate to have a terrific workforce, but we need to ensure we are taking care of our workforce of tomorrow. In less than 10 years, students who will be sitting in sixth grade this year will be Kia Georgia’s workforce pool. We need to do everything we can to give students the best chance to succeed with the jobs that will be available in this region in the years ahead.
Kia Georgia has proudly created several programs since opening our West Point, Georgia plant.
ELEMENTARY & MIDDLE SCHOOL
For kindergarten through eighth grade students, we have committed $2.1 million for the implementation of the “A World In Motion” (AWIM) program to promote awareness and academic achievement in STEM. We began this program several years ago in Troup County and because of the success, we expanded the program into three additional neighboring counties. This is a program that truly brings science, technology, engineering and mathematics to life in the hands of students.
HIGH SCHOOL
To address needs in high schools, we have committed $3.5 million to establish the THINC College and Career Academy here in Troup County, a great resource with tremendous benefits for high school students. The career academy provides students with a variety of different pathways and career exploration opportunities. It also allows for students to receive college credit through advanced placement courses and dual-enrollment.
